Jacican's Story

Jacican is your bespoke food experience, a place to learn, share and eat. Join me from 9am - 5pm Friday, Saturday or Sundays for lunch or high tea.

Jacican can host your small private dinner, family get together or work function. I can also tailor make a private class, meal or corporate training event to you or your organisations needs.

Adult cooking classes will take your cooking to the next level. Whether it’s the secret of the perfect macaron, cream torte or even handmade lollies, I can be your guide. I’ll even teach your littlies during my school holiday Kids in the Kitchen classes.

Jacican Food Studio in Mirboo North, is holding its annual Fathers Day High Tea from 10am -6pm on Sunday 3rd September 2017.

Local Chef, Jaci Hicken, invites you to attend her special afternoon tea for all Gippsland's dads, which includes her special Lemon Meringue Tart and to enjoy the country surrounds and her extensive kitchen garden.

 

Jaci uses all local Gippsland produce in her menu, this afternoon tea includes fresh seasonable and homemade, gourmet ham, cheese, tomato and green pickles and smoked salmon with cucumber ribbon sandwiches, beef and stout pies, pork and plum sausage rolls, cornish pasties, berry cream domes, black forest cake, moonshine pie, macarons, lemon meringue tarts and homemade scones with jam and cream. She caters for all dietary requirements so no one is left out.

“After you have had high tea with your dad you can also take him around our impressive kitchen garden and the Mirboo North township or the Great Southern Rail Trail, its a great day out up here.” said Jaci.

Jaci also runs a variety of cooking classes at Jacican who would like to perfect their food skills and enjoy time out in a country setting. Classes that are coming up include Lollies for Grown Ups, Macarons, and Winter Preserves. “These classes make a wonderful present for that special dad who loves to cook, especially because they enjoy wonderful food and beverages, make some amazing food to take home, and they don't even have to do the washing up!”

Jacican is also open for High Teas on Sundays, “ Our High Teas are seasonal because we use all local produce from the surrounding area so that our food is guaranteed to be exceptional, fresh and inspired whilst making use of all the great producers and farmers in Gippsland.”

“You can book in on Sundays for our high teas, and even select a birthday cake of your choice with bookings of 5 people or more, as well as being served our delicate finger sandwiches, savory canapes, homemade sweets and scones.”

Jacican also boasts an extensive pantry, with chutneys, relishes, preserves and honey from her kitchen garden and other local producers.
