The British tradition of High Tea has been an institution for lovers of good food since the 1700s. Once upon a time it was a meal for the working class man who would take afternoon tea between 3 and 4 o'clock whilst standing or seated upon tall stools, hence it is was called 'High' Tea.

Over time however High Tea became an important social occasion for the ladies and gentleman of high society, which is the image people conjure when thinking of High Tea in modern times.

So if you would like to dine like a King, Queen or their landed gentry come down to the food studio on any given Sunday and sample my menu.

Jacican is driven to provide delicious food prepared using the finest seasonal ingredients, preferably from our own garden and local suppliers. Because of this focus on quality it is impossible for us to provide the same set High Tea menu on a week to week basis.

Every time you dine with us your food and its components are guaranteed to be exceptional, fresh and inspired whilst making use of all the great producers and farmers of Gippsland.

At a typical Jacican High Tea you will be served finger sandwiches, a variety of cakes and tortes, savory canapes like sausage rolls and pies, homemade lollies and the classic scones with Jacican Preserves and cream.

If it's your birthday and you have a party of 5 or more don't forget to select a birthday cake (leave a note about your choice at the high tea booking checkout) from our shop page which I will bake just for your order at no extra charge to share among your party.

Cost is $36 per person, all inclusive, and the menu can be adapted to dietary needs.

Bookings are essential - High Teas can be booked every Sunday throughout the year.
